Product design
All Emmesystem furniture is designed for extreme flexibility, from concept to finished product. Standard items can be crafted into special versions developed upon request to meet specific interior design needs, or a dedicated technical solution can be expressly designed for a single project, to maximize performance and functionality.
Our products are built to last, combining durability with a timeless, iconic aesthetic. They are designed to be disassembled, repaired and produced using a mix of industrial and artisanal processes, to minimize waste and maximize the value of human craftsmanship.
Brand heritage
Our company’s design culture has its roots in the 1970s and 1980s, a period rich in technical and design experimentation. Technical drawing, prototyping and pre-series production were the daily tools for analyzing and developing each project. These processes were closely linked to manual work, a know-how that is indelibly imprinted in the memories of our people, who expertly transfer its value through our industrially produced objects.
Our production facility in Caselle di Selvazzano, west of Padua, is housed in a former Bieffe and Bieffeplast industrial building. Our headquarters includes a showroom and a historical archive, which can be visited by appointment, not only by clients and designers but also by students and researchers.
ICON/academia stackable stool, designed by Simone Bellan for Emmesystem, has been selected for the 2025 edition of the ADI Design Index and nominated for the XXIX Compasso d’Oro ADI, one of the most authoritative international recognitions in the world of design.
Every year, the Permanent Design Observatory, an institution of ADI – Association for Industrial Design, analyses and selects the finest examples of Italian design through a rigorous evaluation carried out by expert committees active throughout the country. The projects chosen by these committees are included in the ADI Design Index, the official selection that represents the best of Italian design and serves as the basis for the prestigious Compasso d’Oro ADI Award.
